Idamae Wallace graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Teaching and an ESL Endorsement in December 2018.
Idamae served in the Army National Guard from 2000-2009 as a Combat Field Medic. She spent time in Paraguay where she first began to learn Spanish and later spent a short time in Nicaragua.
Idamae tutored Spanish for seven academic school years at the Waterford School in Sandy, Utah. She was a private Spanish tutor for students in the Salt Lake County area and she did her student teaching at Kearns High School in the fall of 2018. All of these experiences fueled and shaped a deep love for the Spanish language, its many cultures, and creating ah-ha moments in the minds of young people.
In addition, as a young adult, Idamae worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for Gold Cross Ambulance where she had many special experiences while helping people when they needed it most.
Idamae has been married for 19 years and has three children. She has always had a strong love of learning, she loves the Spanish language and loves working with youth. She loves to sing, exercise, shop, craft, and play board games. Soccer is new to Idamae and she is excited to learn from her students and be immersed in the sport. Idamae is very excited to be working at Salt Lake Academy! She looks forward to one day return to South and Central America with her husband and travel to Europe to visit the land of her family ancestors and places she has studied so much during her degree; specifically Holland, Spain, England, and Scotland.
